You guys inspired me to chop my fender and relocate my license plate. I was going to buy the aeromach clean kit and turn signal relocation kit for about $200, but I decided to save the money for pipes and a power commander.
After unbolting and removing the piece of plastic that covers the wiring underneath the fender, I started removing things. I removed the license plate bracket, the reflector, and the license plate light. The light's wiring just unplugs from a socket, so there was no messy cutting of wires. After I got that stuff out of the way, I just trimmed plastic with my power saw, leaving the holes that the license plate light mounted on. That is where I mounted my license plate bracket.
Now I don't have a license plate light, but I can just buy a nice chrome frame that has a light on it.
Check out the pics. I'm pretty happy with how it came out.
