first of all, i would like to say hello, to kawasaki sport bikes owners, allround the world, i am from slovenia, and i am proud owner of kawasaki ninja zx-6r, model year 2004...
so, let my reply your post...zx-6r absolutely requires at least basic riding skills, but more than that, requires a cool head, because the acceleration and top speed of this bike are really high, and at high speed, there is no place to doing mistakes...but after all, is very nice bike to ride, handling is really amazing, and also position of the biker is good, and not exhausting, for long distance rides even for little bit taller riders, btw i am 188 cm (i think this is 6ft 2 in your units), and i don't have any problems with position on bike...
so, i would say, if you want to buy a zx-6r, and if it is your first bike, don't risk, and ride at high speed, but just get used to it mile per mile, but slowly, and only then when you're skills will be a bit better, you will see and get to know what the ninja zx-6r is capable, and make best of it's power and other riding capabilities.
