I'M TRYING NOT TO CROSS A LINE (& thoughts are all over the place):

It's funny. This morning, I was watching more news coverage of the mess in Texas with the religious group and the kids, the Pope in DC; and, I also thought about this controversy surrounding "O" as well as my own Christian experiences.

We live in a great country where people can safely express their religious beliefs (unless their beliefs are a danger to the safety or well being of others) even if the beliefs are extreme in most people's eyes.

As a Christian believer, I tihnk the problem is that people often take what they want from the Holy Bible and build their own doctrine or manifest around it.

My mother and aunts talk about her my grandmother and grandfather used to take one scriptture and go extreme when they were kids. I've seen my dad stand in the pulpit and used the "...children obey thy parents..." scripture when i didn't agree with something he wanted me to do financially. And, I was over 18. I have seen both the good and bad sides of Christian ministers concerning the bible and church.

With Oprah and most people who obtain POWER: influence, money, and one other element, they typically begin to think they are all powerful, untouchable, and sometimes above the law. It's been said that doctors carry a god complex because they have the knowledge to affect life.

The Bible is complicated. Today, I work up and was in spiritual conflict over something. And, later this evening, I remembered that sometimes I have a tendency and most people have a problem with putting spritual leaders on a pedestal to worship (and forget) until we see their human flaws.

Bottom line: Christian or not, we can make our own monsters by following blindly to the wrong person, people, and/or groups. We need to think for ourselves.
