I discovered the trick thanks to Daemon who posted that a while back.
It was quite hairy at first (a "leap of faith" of sorts

) but since I'd SEEN Mayo do it in his vid I was like "if he can do it so can I!!!"
I learned the trick not to show off but because I too would have to walk the bike in backwards in my garage, and this trick made it easier to just walk it in forwards and flip it.
I used the trick for a while, but then noticed that the side-stand was getting looser, which a couple of times caused the bike to unbalance itself off the stand and if I hadn't managed to hold it up with brute strength I would have dropped it.
So I stopped doing it. To this day my side-stand will not retract completely unless I follow it with my foot. I now just walk the bike into the garage backwards.
From my experience, I would recommend people not to use this trick on a regular basis, but only if they're in a "tight spot" every now and again.
