The method I use is once you get the airbox rubbers soft and the clamps on the front side loose, collapse the top of the airbox tubes down till they pull off of the carbs on the top. Now do a up/down rocking motion on all 4 as you pull back on them. Keep working them back with the back end angled slightly upward till the front just clears the holders, then slide them out to either side. When about half way out you should be able to get to the throttle cable/s and disconnect them then bring the carbs the rest of the way out.
