To answer your question: As long as the ride is enjoyable, I ride. When I'm hungry, I eat. When I need rest, I rest. When I have to go... well, I go. Dang! I sound like Forrest Gump. I don't push very hard on the road. I usually ride about 2-2 1/2 hours (150 - 175 miles) at the speed limit then and stop for gas and refreshments. I always stop if I feel drowsy or distracted. We stop frequently along the way for pictures. On very long rides, I generally take about an hour break at the 3/4 point. a long ride is much easier on the bike than in a car.
