It did, but sometimes it went around and the wheel stayed stationary. I can't believe that front sprocket couyld even pull the chain. The teeth were raked OPPOSITE the direction of travel, so I think it was just sheer friction that got it moving. Only let me down once, a week ago, after a 150 mile road trip, just two blocks from home. Viva Kawasaki!
