Well, Cary is on the road again. He got here Monday night around 11:00 and we stayed up talking until 2:00. Tuesday found us hitting some of the areas historic spots to include Ft Churchill. The fort was built in 1859 and served the wagon trains and Pony Express heading west over the California Trail. While walking around the forts ruins we found a sign of great interest to a tall man wearing short pants ... he was walking with extreme care after reading that.
After going through the Cavalry Fort we went to Buckland Station (built in the 1860's) which had served as a stage stop, weigh station for wagon trains and the Pony Express.
This morning it was coffee ready for him at 5:30 AM and back on the road around 7:30. I rode along with him up to the town of Fernley, Nevada putting him back onto Interstate 80. It was great to have my friend stop by and spend some time here. This is a man who loves to laugh and have fun, maybe stir the pot a little at times and just full of life. He is now heading for Oregon and Idaho.
