Saleen is right: don't make a bet that you don't plan to honor. I think you need to modify the stakes: if he loses, you get to use his car for a week starting from the moment he delivers it to your house after losing the race and he has to give you $50 for gas...no ands, ifs or buts.

But if you do lose, say you stall, or have to get out of the throttle for whatever reason, you should honour your agreement.
To me its not good to make a deal, unless you plan to follow through with it.
If it was me, and i won the bet, and you welched I would likely be more than a bit ****ed.
I never bet on something and plan to not honour it if i should lose.....if i did welch i would be expecting a good asswhooping at the very least.
