I did a 400 mile ride yesterday on my C14 and I averaged 44.3 mpg, and the average speed was 65 mph with a few streches at 75 to 80.
I am very close to 10,000 miles on mine and no issues at all, this bike is awesome.
I do have to agree with you about the big ole cannon hanging off the back, that why I went with the two brothers slipon. I love the look of it and the sound!!!
