My mom used to work for a compay that involved driving 15 seat crew hauler vans through spike/nail infested railroad yards. Lets just say that I learned how to get the cheapest jack they could find under an overweighted van and get the tired changed in the middle of the Mojave Desert by the time I was 15

After this my mom went out and purchased a DECENT jack from Sears and now a tire change is a simple job

Now it's not so threatening when she says "We can go there, but if we get a flat tire your changing it !"
Will agree with what was said above. No matter what his reaction was or how much you may of embarassed him, stopping was a good thing to do. Everyone learned something from the situation and if their relationship was strong then she'll let this hang over his head for MANY years to come
