If you can find a used C14 in your area, take her with you on a test ride. From the passenger perspective (my wife rides with me as well and I've changed bikes in the past just because she was uncomfortable) there is a HUGE difference between a cruiser and a sport touring bike. Seat comfort is the obvious one, but power delivery, braking, exhaust, knee angle, wind management, space between rider and passenger, and suspension all come in to play.
