Default Just got Stolen Bike Back- Need Help

I have a kx-125 (1996). Was registered with ATV plates. It was stolen 2 years ago and I just got the phone call last night that I could go recover it from a tow yard. They charged me a $90 dollar police tow an $20 Storage charge. Our Justice department is grand!

The bikes seen better days. I have already ordered every plastic for it from the company UFO Plastics. There do in today by noon. That will take care of the cosmetics.

The engine is not the same engine that was in the bike. I don't beleive this is the carborator either. The front 2 motor mounts on the frame don't connect. The lower 2 connect an the bar runs threw the engine that holds the rear fork thing on. The clutch cable used to run to the left side of the engine an its now on the right. The clutch cable don't quiet reach, So they moved the perch an lever way in on the bars. I couldn't get it running for the life of me. Kicked the thing so many times I actually put a hole threw my sneaker. I threw a new spark plug in it. Ripped out the tank an drained all the gas. Mixed fresh gas an emptied out the carb by the nut on the bottom. I got it to run for about 15 minutes. Had to give it very little throttle to keep it going. Would not run without at least a small amount of throttle. It died an never would run after that. At one point a hose in the carb just leaked gas non-stop till i turned the gas lever off.. Soon i turned it on.. Gas kept right on coming out again. I took out the carb.. removed the 4 screws on bottom an pushed the 2 float things around.. put it all in an no more gas pouring out.

How can I figure out the year of this engine an carborator ? I can post up the serial number on the engine tomorrow when I get to the garage.
