I can tell you a rough age of the engine; late '86 to early '90 as for the carb I would say you where about right with '85 as that was the old square engine that is now fitted to KMX's, both with the mikuni carb, the carb for that engine should be a keihin.

This carb, although still wrong would work a load better as it more like the correct one: eBay Motors: 92 KX 125 KEIHIN CARB USED (item 270278482434 end time Sep-28-08 11:50:59 PDT)
