I hunt on a federal refuge that is closely monitored by federal wildlife management officers. Their atv authorized trails are plainly marked with high vis yellow paint. Stray off of the authorized areas and you will be invited to leave immediately and you can be sure you will never be back. Your gun must be completely unloaded (magazine included) an inside a zipped or fastened case while the atv is in motion. If you get caught throwing so much as a cig butt on the ground you will find yourself the proud owner of a littering award that will set you back about $150 + you will have to retrieve the discarded item. I've had friends that have gotten in trouble because they were parked near a discarded piece of trash that they didn't even put there. They have more rules than you can imagine and they are very diligent about enforcing them. I've been hunting there almost every year since 1970 and never received so much as a warning. When I hunt on land that is owned by friends, I practice the same rules with the exception that I can drive any and everywhere my atv will go and my rifle is not in a case when I drive.
