As a motorcycle officer I just had to chime in on this one. What you pay for gloves is what you get. Now for those of you out there cover your eyes - I do drive a Harley at work but a Kawasaki Vulcan at home. I have a set of Harley all leather gloves that work just fine. My question would be - why do you need armor? If you plan to fall off your ride chances are you will end up palm down and not knuckle up. If you plan to fight I guess I've never needed that "extra" help. My point in the matter is that a good all leather glove can run you $20-$50, mine were $60 but that's because of the harley logo. I've had some $20 gloves that were like paper thin and shredded right off my hands at a 40mph crash - they were marketed as a "glove to keep your hands cool". I've crashed twice with my current gloves and you really have to look hard to see where I hit the pavement - stupid drivers on cell phones! Also in looking at your links please note that the cops in those photos don't even look like motorcycle officers, just normal cops who think they need gloves on to do everything. Remember "all cops are created equal, some just become motorcops". Take care and keep the rubber side down.
