i'd say its a matter of compfort. im 5'6 n i ride the same bike. at stock height, i can plant one foot which is enough for me. i chose not to lower the bike b/c it changes the handeling. you can't turn as low without hitting the foot pegs. if u wanna try it out, get the lowering links that are adjustable from stock height to 2" drop and 4" drop. that way, if u dont like the ride, you can change it later. the only catch is that once u cut your sidestand, you have to replace it to go up to full height.
