That's the way I did mine, but instead of replacing the line from carb to petcock, I just plugged the nipple. I'll replace with single line later though.
And I kept the switch valve, just in case.

Well, I put the switch valve back on. Yesterday morning before I turned her on I took the air filter cover and seen what appeared to be gas on the air filter housing. It had a hard time turning on so I just put every thing back the way it was.
