There is a process to determining the float height and you better believe that's exactly how Kawasaki has their techs check the float level. I have the factory service manual for my Prairie and it outlines very clearly. The float adjustment is made by hooking a clear piece of tubing up to the drain and opening the drain screw. The fuel level in the clear tubing is the same as the fuel level in the float bowl and that tells you how far to bend the tang on the float to get the fuel level properly adjusted. It requires one disassembly to get the adjustment proper but it's the only way to get the fuel level correct.
