Hello 9511234. Funny, once I took the Voyager demo for a ride and did some low speed figure eights and 90 degree turns, I loved that frame-mounted fairing. It really helped to sell the bike.
I've rode both Harleys and Nomads with fork mounted fairings. The Voyager requires a lighter touch...and the lighter the better on something that tips the scales at close to 900 lbs. Give one a try on a demo day and you'll see what I mean.
And as far as the quality of the Voyager as compared to an Ultra Classic; on this side of the Border you'll spend at least $8,000 more for a two-tone UC with the same whistles and bells as the Voyager...and you'll still have an air-cooled, pushrod engine. And for that kind of coin, I'm quite prepared to pass up a bit of extra chrome.
