check your oil levels and your clutch lever play.
if your level is low it will make for hard shifts. if you have too much lever play, you may not b pulling the clutch in enough and doing damage to your gearbox. you should have about 1.5" of play in the lever. if your bike jumps when u hit first gear from a stop, you have this problem.
keep in mind that kaw's have a heavy shift traditionally.
