If you appreciate a Custom Hot Rod check this out.
My brother in laws best freind just won a few awards at The Grand National Roadster Show with his creation Kontageous.
He won #1 of Class - Post war Custom and The CHIP FOOSE DESIGN EXCELLENCE AWARD as well as a Sweepstakes Award Custom.
Kontageous (yes it's spelled right) is a 1951 Kaiser 2 door Business Coupe. JF has hand built this car from the ground up. The body has been shortened 7", the top has been chopped 5" and the frame has been channeled 4". There are custom body modifications throughout the car; custom exhaust ports, modified doors and door openings, reshaped and contoured roof, flipped and reshaped bumpers, Jeep Liberty headlights, Custom mixed paint by Dupont Hot Hues in "Blue Gene", Interior by Baxters Custom Upholstery of Kelowna. The custom sports one off 20" wheels on the front by Intro Designs and one off 22" wheels on the rear, also by Intro. The engine is a Cadillac Northstar 4.6l which has handbuilt headers (built by JF) that lead to the 3" Flowmaster exhaust and 4" custom tips.
JF also had to choose between Super Rod or Custom Rodder Magazine for the cover and feature article. You'll have to keep your eye on the newstands to see who he went with.
On top of these awards, JF received and invitation to the Blackie Gejeian 47th Annual Invitation only show in Fresno, was interviewed for HotRod Magazine TV to air on the Discovery Channel Outdoor Life Network in the summer, was interviewed by the BIG SCHWAG (the voice of Jesse James Monster Garage) for Car Crazy.com, got to meet and visit with Charlie and Mike (previously of American Hot Rod with Boyd Coddington), Chip Foose (custom car builder as seen on OVERHAULIN), Little John Butera (hot rod builder formerly with Hot Rods by Boyd) among others.
Something I thought was pretty cool from a "local" guy from Osoyoos, BC.
