I rode a EX500 for 6 yrs before upgrading. Mostly due to money constraints. I suggest trying to upgrade to the 500 if you have the basics down. When you feel your skills are above the 250 go to the 500. Its a good little increase but nothing that will be a shock to you. I rode the 500 basically until I had the money and more importantly knew my skills were beyond the 500s capability. They are excellent bikes and can be gotten pretty reasonable. The jump from 500 to 600 is a pretty good jump as far as power. The important thing is if you go to the 600, remember to respect the bid power increase...its like going from a scooter (250) to a rocket! Always wear gear. I recommend the ZZR 600 when you do make the jump.
