Oil change suggestion
I have never examined my old oil before but thought it might be a good idea. I got one of my wife's corning ware clear cassarole dishes, 9X13, and drained my oil into it. let it set for about 2 hours then poured it into the old oil cans to make sure I didn't use much between oil changes. The good part was that once most of the oil was poured out I could use a flashlight to shine from beneath the dish and I was able to see any impurities. I noticed just three little dark spots about the size of a pin head. Two crumbled when I rubbed them between my fingers and the third was a bit of metal. I actually expected to see more and was pleased by the results. I was glad that I only used about a 1/3 of a quart since my last oil change, and I am ashamed to admit that I let it go a little over 5000 miles since my last oil change. I went with the amsoil this time, I used mobile one synthetic last time.
