I have a horrendous last name (or, rather, my husband does; I just inherited it). It's Feuerbacher. And you wouldn't believe what people do to it. Just yesterday I got a piece of mail addressed to Julie Feverhacker. So I can sympathize with the Carlos, Arlo, and Marco.

Where's Penticton? I love BC; I've wanted to move to Vancouver Island for the past 20 years. Don't know whether I'll ever get to...

Try having Ferrari as your last name. I have heard it all. Not that I complain, it did get me into the Ferrari factory for a "tour" a few years ago.

Penticton is in the Sunny Okanagan Valley. In south central BC, right close to the US border. If you locate HWY 97 on a Washington State map and follow it into BC you will find us. People laugh when I tell them but we live in the hottest part of Canada, the only desert environment in the whole country, and home to a lot of great wine.
