I have just one additional comment to make re the DOT & Snell ratings on helmets. To obtain a DOT rating a helmet must sustain an impact from a drop from 6 feet whereas a Snell Rating requires a drop from at least 10 feet.
This is why I choose either of two helmet brands which exceed both of these tests. Other features of these brands also enter into my preferences.
