Some of you 800 gurus will already know me from my many posts and questions about my '06 800B. and thanks again for all the great advice.
I know that there is a lot of gains to be made in the performance side of things with pipes, jetting and intake mods (eg RW"s and many others examples). Unfortunately, money was an issue for me and I did the "half-assed" mods - K&N filter in stock airbox, custom made slip on mufflers to my stock headers and a dynojet kit tuned to suit.
Now dont get me wrong the bike goes well,
but I still go to bed at night wondering how much better it would be set up perfectly:
- V&H Cruzers
- aftermarket / scooterized intake
- re-jetted correctly
Is this a case of paying a $1000 bucks for the last few HP??? I think mine dynoed at 50hp... (I live in Australia, and pipes / parts are EXPENSIVE!!)... Or are the above mods to get the perfectly set up 800 worth the extra cash???
I haven't ridden a perfectly set up 800 so I don't know what I am missing. and if you think I'm not missing much, then I'd also appreciate to hear it.
Apologies to drag up this debate again, and I really appreciate all your feedback.
Cheers, Dave
