If you have swapped your muffler or exhaust on your 2005 ZX6R, then you have experienced the fuel injection light (FI) remaining lit. Ivan's Performance Products have a fix for you. Their instructions are extremely vague, so I hope to shed some light on it for you. My instructions assume you know how to remove and re-install the seat, which if you swapped your own muffler you obviously do. There are pics associated with most steps below but I host them separately from this site ... if they do not load, please contact me at kawapowa@bellsouth.net.

1) You'll need to purchase Ivan's servo motor eliminator unit, part number SE-KAW-1, available at the time of this posting for $110. This is a high quality electrical device that takes place of your OEM exhaust servo motor by utilizing the factory plugs. No splicing; simple plug-n-play.

2) Remove your bike's seat.

3) Locate the exhaust servo pulley (silver hexagaon in pic) and remove the cables by unclipping them from the plastic and pulley.

4) Dislodge the servo motor by removing the two hex-bolts; save bolts for re-install. Unclip the two electrical connectors and remove servo from housing.

5) Remove the two rubber bolt-bushings from the servo motor. Align two bolt-washer assemblies as shown in this picture's inset (below). I recommend you re-install the bolts to plug the holes that go through the undertail. This will prevent water/debris from entering your battery/servo compartment.

6) Plug the two connectors from Ivan's servo motor eliminator into the factory connectors. Secure the device to the bike with a plastic zip-tie (there should be one there holding the factory clips already). Re-install the two bolt-washer assemblies.

7) Start engine ... your FI light should now be off!

Re-install your seat ... HAPPY RIDING!
