1. Probably not. Mine (and countless others) have ticked since day one. Dealers say "they do that sometimes". I've got 35,000 miles on my "04 1600.
2. "Ask of oil and they will come".
RichLockyer has done a lot of oil studies, check out this thread. Searching "oil" will make your head spin with so many hits.
3. For the most part, sure. Of course there are always funky tools and your digital FI might give you a migrane, but for the most part, keep your fluids changed and you are good to go.
