Hydraulic lifters, so it's not valve adjustment.
Does the ticking go away, or quiet down under acceleration and cruise, but return under deceleration? If so, that's the Idle Control Solenoids.
They are louder when cold, and tend to quiet down when warm, but they are still audible on a warm engine.
