Sounds similar to the 1800 Goldwings. I got a notice saying that certain welds on the frame near the mounting point of the single sided swingarm could break, resulting in collapse of the rear suspension, causing you-know-what. So they take your bike and tear it partially down, lay it on it's side. Then a locally hired TIG welder grinds out the suspect welds and rewelds the frame. This was the last straw in my decision to get rid of the wing and go to a Nomad for touring. I feel much better now and the Nomad is a beauty!!!
