Southern Red: where are you located at in NC, just wondering, maybe someone close can recommend someone who can look at it.
And need to know what bike it is, there could be a better/easier way to brace the muffler. Pictures, even with a cell phone camera, can help alot too. |

Okey Dokey, so you are Spruce Pine/Burnsville area. I will be seeing some of my motorcycle friends from up there this weekend, (I live in McDowell). We can see who they recommend.
I believe you just need a good welding person, and that should not be to hard to find. MR S-7 up there recommended disconnecting the CDI, that is not hard either, I would disconnect the battery also. If ya'll wouldn't mind running down to the bottom of 80 this weekend (12th or 13th or before noon on the 14th) with the bike, some of my friends can look at it in person and give suggestions. A couple of them may even get an idea and go get their welding rigs out themselves -- I can't say for sure, but they've done things like that before when the mood struck them. Our state motorcycle rally is at Tom Johnsons this weekend, and actually one of our guided tours goes all through that area. You might as a bonus meet some riding buddies from your area. |
