I just got home from work and when I turned off my KLR, I heard a faint consistent tone.
I thought it was coming from outside the garage but after following my ear around for a few minutes, it seems it's coming from somewhere in the front of the bike... instrument cluster? I tried turning the key on & off, as well as flipping every electrical switch on the bike... nothing changes it... It continues to beep even off with key out... I did a google search and found nothing about it... I didn't even know there was anything that could beep in the instrument cluster... Anyone know what this could be? Just went out to check on it, about 20 min later and it is no longer beeping. It was still beeping about 10 minutes ago though...
I started the bike and turned it off, still not beeping. This is driving me crazy... never heard it do that before, and I bought it when it was new in '04. |

Check your coolant level. If they get an air pocket they make a strange squeak as they cool and more air enters the cooling system.
