Got her for $375, put about five hours labor and maybe $200 for parts, most of which were metric fasteners and ceramic coating the exhaust.
The rest: replacement handlebars new front tire (not pictured) "street style" fender, also not pictured, well, not installed yet... spent two hours sewing a new seat skin by hand (not doing that again) hammered out the rear fender bought parts that are to a different XT, need to put on Ebay and get some of my money back. It's lots of fun once you get it started. It starts fine actually, just kicking a 550 cc single cylinder is sometimes a chore. Click the photo for some before, during and after action. |

This is my, new to me, 1970 Kawasaki F5 Bighorn 350. Have yet to have it more "Offroad" than a gravel road and through the yard. As soon as I get the front brake lever put back on and a tail light so I'm street legal I'll start looking for better places to ride.
Sorry for the crappy pics, but my camera is dead and my cell phone pics stink.

Was thinking about starting a thread here, then I saw this one. Dual sport pics! From the Sherpa to KLR, let's see your adventure pics.
On the Outer Banks, North Carolina, taking the low road to Buxton last fall. ![]() |

All right, had a chance to get out this morning. I took Jasper for a little scoot along the Red River. Weather threatened so I didn't stay out long. I'm gonna put on some warmer gear and go try to find some new fun this afternoon. Maybe more pics if I find something real perty.

Here's a few of the photos from a West Virginia dual sport run near Snowshoe Resort.
![]() Always makes me think... you can't get there from here. Kind of a "band of brothers" shot, I'm on your far right, the guy with very very little hair, and my KLX in the foreground. ![]() out of the woods on what is the "wide open freeway" portion of this trail. ![]() finally out of the woods... ![]() After falling on my butt twice I finally let some air out of the tires. Nice reflection of those reflective panels on Dave's pant... And yes, that is a Buell Blast you see. The guy is one heck of a rider. He couldn't find a dual sport on short notice for the money he had to spend, he's a sort of "horse trader", so he got the lightest smallest he could - the Blast. He actually had it sold when he got home. He just paddled like heck and hammered that little bike mercilessly. I came home with a whole different respect for the Blast. There were two DRz400s there too. It was fun and there was so much to see, the group does it every year.

Took a ride up to northern Quebec, southern tip of the Arctic Ocean at James Bay. Sounds farther than it really is, is only 100 miles farther than riding down to Key West for me. Fun trip anyway.
