So I am driving to work yesterday and lose all power at about 55mph. No power at all for about 5 minutes. Then it miraculously starts back up and I am on my merry way. Get on the Eway does it again. wait about 10 minutes starts back up with a lot of cranking. Turn around get off the Eway stops for good this time no power even after I got out of work. Go out this morning undo the battery hook it back up. Starts ok, ride it for about 10 hard minutes. Does the same thing twice. I am thinking it's the voltage regulator, but I am no mechanic. PLEASE HELP. can I test the voltage regulator? could it be the ignition switch? what else might be overheating? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Mike |

mikesweat73, do you have a shop manual for your bike? Can make tracing electrical circuitry, especially for those not as familiar a much easier job. It is also possible you have only a wire in your system that is damaged / worn, and once hot is no longer making continuity. The same problem can occur at most any electrical connection / terminal point. Electrical "issues" that are intermittent, especially heat induced / related can be especially challenging. Have you changed your spark plug, sometimes something so simple can be the answer. Best of luck to you!
