Hi Drifter, I got a 2006 Sherpa great little bike, very cold blooded so I changed the jetting to main 130 and pilot 20 like you said, what a difference. I rode almost 5000kms this year mostly on gravel and dirt roads. She is a keeper!! What do think about Kenda 270 tires, and belray 10 w fork oil, I'm using Lucas 10-40. Thanks for the info. raphoe

First time poster and I just bought my first bike...a 2005 KL250 Super Sherpa. I'm so excited to start riding!

This bike has been sitting in a garage, un-ridden for 8 years.

The tank is full of gas and apparently it was professionally serviced before it was stored.

I read that I might have to drain the tank and remove and clean the carb. Should I just do that before even trying to start it?

Appreciate your responses.

So I went ahead and cleaned her up. Removed the carb and yep...lots of gunk clogging things up. Now it runs but it's a very hard start...I think I'm going to look at different size jets, these might be too lean.
