I have developed a few new products for the KLR 650 that I think they really need.
If you actually beat on your KLR, not one of those people that street ride it only, and should have bought the Concours instead. Let me know. You are responsible to pay the shipping to you, and yes, just the actual shipping charges, no hidden fees. And you need to install the parts yourself. Then as payment to me for giving you free goodies, I want feedback. Good or bad, tell me what you think, how the instruction are for installing. If you like the product, any issues etc. I do not sell junk, and want to field test to a real market of users that ride their KLR's they way they were meant to be ridden in my opinion....which is as hard as you can ride them. Thanks

A set of frame sliders, 3 per side for full protection, and not like the cheap bars from say happy trails. Subframe bolt upgrade kit. New footpegs that are stronger, and better grip. The proper spring that should have been used on the doohickey to start with...most I pull apart seem to need a spring in between those aftermarket ones currently offered in length....also the wrench and puller can be sold with the spring as a kit if you need it. Not ready yet, but in the plans are, a carbon fiber skidplate, but thats a year away or so. A better cooling fan thats stronger mounted, and cools better. Fork upgrade kit.

Hi Saleenguy, it is Clayton. I would like to ask a question about the hand guards. Will they do what you say they will, and really stand up? The pegs are they rubber covered at all, do they pivot? The frame sliders, what are those? Are they like the ones that you see on stunt bikes that protect the frame, engine and other vital parts? Like the radiator?
Have you heard of a thermal Bob? Please let me know? Thanks |

I have given away the sets for people to try. We chatted last week on the phone, and I hope that helped answer some of your questions. I will answer these now. The handguards are an aluminum bracket from mid bar to the ned of the bar. Included is instructions on how to cut down your stock plastic bush guard, and the way to lign it up and drill the holes for mounting. Some people do not want to add the plastic part, orthers do. So you can go either way. A simple job adding a few minutes trims the stock part down in soze a bit, and then drilling 3 holes per side, and I include the 6 total rivets needed, you just need a drill and pop rivet gun. The Pegs are metal, and have some grip to keep the riders feet from slipping off so easily like they do on the stock pegs when wet and /or muddy. Yes they fold up, and are spring loaded, also have stronger mounting as some of the stock ones break off. The frame slider is going to be the expensive item for buyers. The bars now made by a few companies are hard to mount, and offer little protection in a fall. They bend too easily. My design has 3 areas of impact in a fall, and the front is a bar with 2 contact points, the rear is a single slider only, snd just keeps the rear o the bike from getting so torn up in a drop, hopefully saving the side panels, seat, lights etc. It is a bit of work to install and a newbie putting it on should set aside about 90 minutes to get it all on and correct. Hope that helps. Marty

i have owned the bike for 2.5 months from the show room floor and only put on a meesly 8000 k. as much as possible off road. messy mud slinging rock throwing ditch crashing off road. i could of used a proper set of frame sliders a few times already! |

29,000 kms on mine already, its only 16 months old. I would say that maybe 4,000 of them are on pavement, the rest gravel roads, to hardcore offroad. It sure is hard on tires and gas....Seems I always have an empty tank, and bald rear tire. ![]()

I have a few friends that ride klr's but when I invited them to do a REAL dual sport ride, they thought I was nuts! I'll keep them posted on your products though...

I mostly build specialty parts for snowmobiles, but do a few for a couple bikes, and quads to.
