Hi
I have a diesel mule that i bought new and love it. it isnt used very hard, it is at deer camp and used for light work and hunting. i only have about 70 hours and 200 miles on it. I took it in for service about 8 months ago. I beleive they changed oil and cleaned filters and greased it. They said no valve adjustment was needed or will be needed for a long time. The price was 250 dollars.

My question is can i just do this myself and save some money. is there anything special that they do that i coudnt. How do you guys clean the filters? at how many hours do you adjust the valves? how often do you change your oil. do you use the oil from kawasaki. any hidden grease fittings that are tought to find? or anything else i need to know or do?
Thanks in advance

Hello,
I have an 88 Kawasaki Bayou 185 that starts up after a couple of pulls on the pull start with starter fluid and idles, but when you push on the throttle it revs a little and if you hold the trottle it doesn't rev high. If you put it into gear and push the throttle it rides really slow and some times the rpm will go up and down. Would a bad battery cause this problem? It ran but rough when I bought it. The person I bought it from said he had the cam chain changed and rebuild the carburetor. The old plug was wrong and covered with black sut so I changed it to the correct plug and the air filter was a home made one so I bought a new one.

Please help.
Thanks

I'm thinking the roll cage as it is powder coated or the front fender as it is crinkle/plastic. Maybe I should just carry it in the glove box until I get stopped and then get THE official directions?????? Can't believe the folks that took my money and issued the green sticker had no clue.........

Really not sure if it is gas or oil fouling the plug. the machine has probably never been maintained over the years with respect to fresh fuel or had fuel stabilizer added throughout the year. it is mainly a deer season machine used a couple of weeks per year. i have read the threads on the crap carburator with respect to the petcock needing a rebuild and the float/needle valve problems leading to gasoline pouring out. To other members with this problem did your machines also foul spark plugs or do we have another problem?.

Have a 97 KLF 300 and love it but ran into an electrical problem recently. Starts intermittantly. Put a new starter relay on it but didn't fix the problem. Can jump the battery directly to the starter and it turns over so not the starter. Took the Regulator/Rectifier off and cleaned connectors with a electrical terminal cleaner (just sprayed them). Then took off the IC ignitor Terminal cables and cleaned those connectors with the spray and it started perfectly for about 1 hour. Did some work on the rear brake and just for kicks tried to start again and now it's back to starting intermittantly. Any ideas what it might be or how to determine what the problem is. Did have another problem but think it has been overcome but who knows, it might be a part of the pieces of the problem. When I started it a couple of times I had a slow blow on the 30Amp fuse. I think it was ground wire problem that may be fixed since I started it a few times after unhooking a ground that seemed faulty and the fuse did not blow. Just mentioning in case that also tells someone what may be the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Adjusted valve clearance. Only minor adjustment, but no change in performance. Ran some Sea foam through carb. intake..helped slightly. Plugs are black with carbon. Ran pilot screw in and out but didn't help the stumbling problem. If I feather the manual choke, can get it to respond. This thing has good power if you can feather it past the stumbling. Any thoughts.??
