Vibrations not of the good kind

I recently acquired a 2005 W650. The mileage is approximately 16,000. Being "old school", I'm quite pleased with it. However, I've found that between 2500 and 3000 revs, I get strong vibrations; above or below that, no problems. It happens when I'm riding and even when stationary in neutral. Any ideas?

I'm also going to fit the Bonnie-type bars (USA export). I figure I'll have to change the clutch cable and have the brake pipe modified; I'm not too sure about the throttle cable either. I have seen the same conversion on another W650. Any tips on how to go about it?

That could be the vibration point of the engine & it may be worse when the bike needs a sync or tuneup.
I would try doing a carburetor synchronization & other tuneup type of maintenance.
Another thing to check is the valve clearance, but I don't know if that would have anything to do with the vibration.

Check all the engine mount points. Several Yamahas are bad for that in the 3500-5000 range.

Words aren't children and there's nothing wrong with killing them to clarify a point or keep the peace.
