Is it possible to use the 18/38 combination on a 04 Vulcan 800A? Or will this cause to much bogging at the lower speeds?

I finally got the 514-18 front sprocket from Sprocket Specialist after 3 months on back order & run around calls.![]()
Anyhow, the 18/38 is pretty awesome on open slab cruising. I didn't feel much low end loss. (but it's there)

What is the best sprocket (rear and front) for a 1977 KZ1000 ltd w/stock 4 into 2 steel pipes and no other mods.?

Thank you Mercury... I am new to the Kaw kz, coming from a V45 magna, and after a V65. I suppose that I get your drift re. cruising or wheeling
I suppose what I am after is more of the original performance (not much mods) but a bit less vibration than the 33t
Thanks for your comment.

I changed my front sprocket from 17t to 18t and the rear sprocket from 42t to 40t and have noticed excessive vibrations that I had never felt before. Did any of you all experience this when changing from stock to generic?
