Default need help asap on timing a 89 bayou 220 timing it now and i am stuck

i need to know when the pistion is at tdc should the T on the flywheel line up with its mark as the pistion hits tdc ??????? please help trying to fix it tonight before dark

yes the t mark lines up on the case mark and the cam dot or line on the cam gear lines up with the mark on the head.but you have to make sure the t mark is on the compression stroke off the engine or you will time it 180 out

i use a compression tester for this or you can use your finger to plug the spark plug hole and feel for air pushin/

ok when the piston is a tdc my t mark doesnt line up and the dot doesnt line up either so what do i have to do to get them all to line up ?????

If the piston it at TDC comression and the T on the flywheel does not line up, the the woodruff key on the flywheel has been sheared.

To time it you just remove the timing chain from the cam sprocket and hold it up. Set the piston to TDC compression, then line up the cam sprocket dot to the mark in the top of the head. Reinstall the chain and tension it up.

ok so do i need a puller to take the flywheel off and once i change the woodruff key the t will line up with the pistion at tdc
