2500 mule

what is the best oil to use for my mule i'm getting ready to do a change. i went to my local dealer and bought the proper oil filter ( 18.95 ) they said any 10 w 40 but i thought there was a special atv style oil. any help?

I used Castrol 10W 40 ATV and a Wix oil filter (51394) from Oreillys. Napa will have the right filters for it also.
