Default New Bayou owner...few questions.

First I just want to say Hi to the other members out there.

I recently acquired a 99 Bayou 300 4x4 (KLFC11 I believe). I'm in the processing of fixing it up. Cosmetically, it's in rough shape, but mechanically, it's pretty sound. I'll be getting new plastic for it to solve that problem. My wife and I decided that we want to use it on the street as well as off road.

I did search the forum first before I posted this, but I'm looking for companies that make aluminum wheels and street tires in the stock sizes.

Rear Wheels
11x8

Rear Tires
24x10-11

Front Wheels
11x6.5

Front Tires
24x8-11

I've looked on several websites like Dunlop, Maxxis, ect. for street tires and can't really find anything. Anyone else out there with a street setup? It's required by law in SD to have street tires if used in the city.

I also saw a few wheels on the net but didn't know what to even look at. I noticed the Bayou has quite a bit larger center bore than some of the new 4wheelers and rim setups.

The information seems to be slim and basically I want to keep the same rolling diameter. Preferably the same sizes, but would be willing to go with a larger wheel and smaller tire. Looking for URLs, places to buy, ect.

Thanks!

I don't think the 4x4 Bayou is designed for extensive operation on concrete or pavement. It is full-time four-wheel-drive, and has a limited slip differential in the front. If the streets you want to operate it on are gravel or dirt, it would be no problem, though.

Full-time 4WD is designed both for off and on road use. If the front on the Bayou is limited slip like you say...that's perfect for letting the wheels travel at different speeds under power. If it were part-time 4WD using a transfer case I wouldn't want to run it on the street... Besides, it's not like I'm going to be making hard corners anyway. Streets are large enough to take the corners gradually. I do agree that it's not as easy to corner a full-time 4wd machine vs one with selectable 4wd.

Back on topic...wheel and tire setups??? Would appreciate any good sources.
