just got a rectifier & CDI for my 93 bayou. The plug that is on the new rectifier has 5 pins it says its the upgraded model. the old rectifier has 6 pins other than that the plugs are the same. The extra pin on the old rectifier has a brown wire on it. any ideas. Will it screw anything up if I plug them in or is it something I won't need anymore with the new unit.

A bit weird, eh? Shouldn't a replacement have the same number of pins as the old one??
According to the diag I have here the brown wire comes off the rectifier and goes off to the ign switch, the starter relay, horn, reverse light, engine stop switch etc...so yes, I'd say it's pretty important! |
