Default What NAPA fuel pump for a Mule 1000 and more

Some body here told me to get a NAPA fuel pump for my Mule 1000s for around $50. Does any one have a part # for it. Should I just bring the old one into NAPA and see what they have. I looked at a local farm store and they have some aftermarket fuel pumps but I don't think they shut off with presser. The one Mule I have had a Ford automotive fuel pump in it and was fouling plugs bad. Could this be related? The other Mule was not charging, so then they went to go use it the battery was dead. I think it might be charging but some thing is draining it. They both have cabs and it seems that it has taken its toll on the front struts, can we get these some where as well? Any help will help! Thanks Andy

I put a universal electric pump from oreilly auto parts that was low pressure 2-3 psi that was about 5 months ago an no problems since. I cant find the part # for it I dont know if you have an oreilly auto parts where you are but if you do the pump is on the shelves where all the engine dress up stuff is. Napa probably offers one thats low pressure also just talk to them.

So it don't matter if it don't shut off when it builds presser? This is what I have found at the farm store.

If the float needle valves in the carburetors are in good shape, the cheap little in-line pulse type fuel pumps work just fine. The high end rotary vane pumps work too, especially to drain your wallet, and if you go that direction get one with a fuel pressure cut off of around 4 psi. Avoid the gerotor type that builds enough pressure for fuel injection systems, they will simply blow the float needle open and flood the engine.

The struts are still available and listed under the shock section of the parts diagrams on Kawasaki.com.

Check your ignition switches to be sure they are not dirty and resulting in battery drain when turned off. Other than that, you will have to go through the diagnosis process to find any drains on the battery, as it could be a diode in the regulator is failing.
