#1 I thought amish people signed off all contact with technology, including internal combustion engine.

#2 I broke my Prairie 400 in HARD with great results. Read this article:

Break In Secrets--How To Break In New Motorcycle and Car Engines For More Power

I did hard pulls in my driveway for three days. Warm it up to operating temperature and then take off like a madman, slam on brakes, turn around and pull the length of the driveway again.

#3 The one-way clutch on the outside of the primary is slipping. If it were the secondary it wouldn't matter if you revved it up, it would still slip. If it were the primary clutch slipping, it would slip when you are in upper gears pulling at the lower RPM's.

You'd think if a spring was fatiguing it would take off with no throttle and stall if you try and stop it.

There is a whole Amish/Mennonite community around here that uses gas engines. They even run a discount Grocery store.

I will probably do that. I read that earlier but didn't know what to think.

I can't seem to figure out why it only slips when the wheels try to drive the engine faster than it is running, and not when pulling.

99 that break in procudure is up in the air.many people have differeent ways of doin it.but i will stay with the way i was tought by gm and a champion drag racer.a slow break in and fattin the fuel mix to keep the cylinder temps down lets everything expand and contract slowly ,not quickly to seal um up.

have you ever been to a drag race with nitro funny cars.and stand there and watch em rebuild there engines?ounce they are done rebuilding them they fire em up and idle em.but if you happen to stand behind one while they are breakin in the engine your eyes will burn due to how rich they are runnin the fuel.and they are makin 5000+ horse on a normal break in.

as that page you displayed you can lose 2-10% horse by breakin in normal or slow.and 2-10 horse gain by a speedy breakin.

i will stick to ole school methods on this one.because its been workin for many years.and look how long the piston and rings last there.

as for that page they rebuild there motors every year not every 5 - 10+yrs
like quds and motor cycles if they are properly maintenced.

not tryin to start a conflict or nothin its just preference's on how to properly break in new engine/rings-corey-

I've got about 3hrs of ride time it and the more I ride it the higher the compression gets and it get more power. I can't even pull-start it with one arm anymore. My starter is iffy so I don't have my starting system put back in yet.

I plan to.

The smoking stopped altogether, just a little bit after the first start from the teardown.

Just cruised and played with it lightly. Never going over 1/2 throttle, varying-speed mud donuts, etc.
