Hey guys hows it going. I am new to the site as you can tell but I own 2 Kawasaki's, A Ninja 500 and a 2005 Kawasaki Prairie 360 4x4. The problem with the fourwheeler is that the 4 wheel drive doesnt seem to be kicking in. i checked the front differential and it was a little bit of a mud color, im kinda a mud *****
Thanks -Justin |

If the front differential oil is mud colored, you are due for a tear down to clean it out and see if the bearings, gears, and friction plates can be salvaged.
The usual cause of the front drive not engaging is the belt wear indicator getting slapped and triggering the warning light. The next most common cause is failure of the front shift motor or a torn or loose wire. If the front diff lube is muddy, I would suspect the shift collar is galled and stuck and the shift motor has burned out.
