Has any one used a Pull-Pal, how did it perform?

I have one, and found that an inexpensive Danforth anchor for a small boat works far better and is much easier to fold and pack around in the bed of the Mule. It does require a shovel and hammer to get started in the ground, but I carry those anyway.

I have no idea what the Pul-Pals run today, but they were around $300 for a small one back when. A good Danforth type anchor is about ten bucks on Craigslist. A friend uses what is called a plow anchor, that looks a lot like a Pul-Pal, and he got that for $3 at a yard sale. The plow style is still bigger and rattles around the bed a bunch.

Mine is only 17 and maybe 3/8 inches along the long shank, 13 inches wide from point to point on the metal rod to which the fluke is welded, and the fluke is 9 inches long from the pivot to the point. I tossed it on the scale and it is only 5 pounds, and folds flat as a pancake. I did weld some 1x1 quarter inch angle down each fluke to keep from bending them.

It is heavy galvanized, and there is what appears to be a model number on the long shank, it is S 16 and a rock ding. So, it must have had three numbers at one time. I do not know the brand, it was a used deal off Craigslist.
