Hello - I'm new to this forum and just took delivery of a used 2007 Prairie 360 4x4 yesterday. According to the dealer I bought it from, his mechanic estimates it's seen very little usage and everything checked out fine. While trying it out today I noticed that when I shift from Neutral to High or Neutral to Reverse there is the sound of grinding gears. I don't recall it doing this when he delivered it yesterday. I'm sure this isn't a good thing, but hoping with the advice from folks here it doesn't turn out to be a major problem.
First off, is it possible I'm just doing something wrong? Shifting was always done with the bike stopped - but I may not have had the foot brake engaged. Currently, the sound is the same whether the foot brake is engaged or not. (I don't know whether the foot brake has any bearing on shifting or not - I'm just guessing that maybe it is supposed to engage a clutch or something - although I see no references to anything like that in the shop manual).
I have a copy of the shop manual, but not the owner's manual. So it's possible (I'm hoping) there's just something stupid I'm overlooking.
The guy I bought it from is several hundred miles away, and I did buy it as-is, so taking it back to him isn't really an option. Any suggestions (other than don't by a used bike from someone several hundred miles away

) greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
