Hi All,
I have two project 4 wheelers, a red 4x4 KLF 300C and a black 2x4 KLF 300A. Does anyone know if the motors are interchangeable on these? I'm looking to put the motor in the 4x4. Any help would be appreciated. I'm not sure of the years but have included pics. Thanks! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Ok, here goes...
*to the best of my knowledge* (I have a bayou 400 same frame different motor but same principle) The 2WD bayou motors are the same as the 4WD motors. You could put the 2WD motor into the 4WD frame and it would run but only in 2WD. The 2WD final drive case only has a rear output shaft. You would have to find a 4WD final drive box to bolt onto the 2WD motor so that you'd have something to hook the front drive shaft up to. |

Cool, thanks alot.
I think I'm going to part them both out. I have a ton of good parts and really don't have the time for the project. I guess I bought them thinkin I would but you know how that goes. If anyone's interested in anything give me a shout. Thanks! |

I'm close to the Nashville area in TN. I just posted the parts for sale on Craigslist...I can send you detailed pictures of whatever you are interested in and can ship them if needed. I really just need to get them out of here so I have more room in my garage. What are you interested in?

I like "something that goes bang" part...
I don't need anything in particular, I just always hoard parts that fit my quad. Your ad says that you have the entire KLF300C quad just not in one piece. Let me just clarify my previous statement... If you have the entire 4X4 engine, just blown up or something, you can totally use the parts off of the 2WD to put it back together. The powerplant off of the 2WD is the same as the 4WD, only the output shaft case is different. If you are completely missing the 4WD engine, you'd have to buy the output shaft case off of a 4WD motor and bolt it on the side of the 2WD. |
